Design of Peja Cultural Pavilion
Kosovo Pejara, a contest site, is a multinational country where the last war of the 20th century took plac when examining the regional characteristics and context of the city. It is characterized by a mixture of various cultures due to frequent wars, and it can be seen that units were formed
without a framework for development plans rather than a planned city seen in Europe.
We would like to newly construct a devastating land without the use of fountains, which are ruins of the 15th century.
The designer does not create a new order in the peja, but rather wants to form a hierarchy in disorder by seeing the current disorder as an order and the history of the land.
Unlike the development plan, the site, which was created with a rectangular square in 2010, has been established in different forms. It can be said that this caused the urban segmentation by removing the connection to each other. It is intended to generate activation on the street itself by deriving the design direction along with the existing planned area.
In addition, the program is organized to facilitate recreational tendencies and social exchanges in consideration of the fact that users’ ages are composed of 70% of young people.
