TINY HOUSE 2024 ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION

Most modern residential spaces are made up of simple and repetitive square structures, providing users with limited visual experience. Therefore, we would like to propose a small two-person house within 27.8㎡ where users can experience more three-dimensional and new things outside of a simple and repetitive framework. The design concept of this project is ‘folding paper’. Paper begins with a flat surface and folds to create a variety of three-dimensional shapes. Similarly, our residential space goes beyond a simple square frame to provide users with new visual & sensory experiences. Form a pattern on a blank sheet of paper and fold it to complete the three-dimensional shape. This shape is a flexible shape that can be expanded or contracted. This shape gives the advantage of being able to change the shape of the house depending on the user’s situation or weather, and allows the user to interact with nature more. It can also be folded to the minimum and transported in a variety of ways. Our folding house is a functional, nature-friendly house that fits into the tiny house.
