BEYOND SIGHT : THE BLIND EXPERIENCE DESIGN 2024
This project is an experiential space where visually impaired people’s daily lives can be understood through various senses other than sight, and embodies the flow of each day by dividing it into time and senses. Visitors will experience a day that flows “from morning to evening” through senses other than sight. This aims to go beyond the visual limits they actually experience, to recognize the passage of time through various senses, experience the ways only the visually impaired, and to develop empathy and understanding. Visitors will experience space through various senses, such as touch, hearing, and smell, almost blocking visual cues, and realize that they can fully feel the beauty and relaxation of their daily lives without sight. With the theme of “Ordinary Days,” they will enter their daily lives, which are no different from ours, and experience the stillness of the day sensibly without sight.
